Save $212 Each Month by Making This One Change

According to Decision Data, Americans spend, on average, $217 per month for cable TV. This amount has risen every year lately. Interestingly, people spend, on average, $205 per month for all other major utilities combined (electricity, gas, water, sewage, and garbage). So on average people spend more for cable TV than all of their utilities!

I was surprised and shocked to learn this. But even before I did, I was fed up with my cable TV bill. I was spending only $60 per month, but this was too high for my budget, especially given the fact that I watched very few of the channels on it. So I recently decided to cancel cable TV all together and just watch shows on Netflix. This just lasted a few weeks and I started to miss live TV, especially the news. I receive local networks by way of an antenna hooked to my TV, but I still wanted to watch a few cable channels live for some reason.

So I began to search again for a new solution. I wanted live cable TV channels and it had to be affordable – $30 a month or less. After researching all of my options, I decided to go with Sling. The Sling Blue package is $30 per month and it has most of the channels I wanted. But before I signed up I decided to do one last Google search for ‘free streaming services’ to make sure I hadn’t missed anything. Well it turns out that I did.

I stumbled upon 2 services that offer most cable channels and the cost is free: Pluto.tv and ustv247.tv. I can watch any of their cable TV channels live on my laptop or send the signal to my TV using Chromecast. I’ve been watching some of both services for about two weeks now, half expecting the services to abruptly end or the quality to be awful. Neither has happened. I have no idea how they are free, but they truly seem to be. So for now I’m going with it.

So if you want to start saving $212 or more each month I recommend you do just what I did – cancel your cable TV service and start getting the same shows you love for free through Pluto.tv and ustv247.tv.
